Christmas comes early at Miron for Littles at Big Brothers/Big Sisters Party - Friday, December 11, 2009
For the last three years, Miron has made the season a little brighter for a few of the Littles in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program in Wausau. Based on recommendations from the BBBS program, Miron invites up to a dozen children, their Bigs, and families for some crafts, lunch, a visit with Santa and (of course) presents. Families are sent home with enough goodies to make a nice holiday feast as well. Similar events took place at Miron's corporate office in Neenah and Miron's Madison office earlier in the month.

On any given day, about 60 workers in hard hats buzz around the Plexus Corp. construction site in downtown Neenah. Miron Construction workers use backhoes, cranes and lifts to transform the former Glatfelter paper mill site into Plexus' $20 million global headquarters. The four-story, 103,000-square-foot building is on pace for completion in May and occupancy in June. read more ...

Miron awarded largest state building to incorporate geothermal system - Thursday, October 01, 2009
Miron Construction of Neenah was awarded the contract to convert the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Elmwood Commons into a Student Success Center after submitting a $7.5 million bid. The work includes expanding the 31,500 square foot building at Elmwood and Lincoln avenues by 11,000 square feet.

The project will be the largest state building to date to incorporate geothermal heating and cooling, which uses the heat of the earth to regulate the temperature inside the building. The result is a building that is expected to be 75 percent more efficient.

An Earth Day to remember in Shawano - Friday, May 15, 2009
The groundbreakings on April 22 for the new Shawano Primary School and the remodeling of the existing Olga Brener Elementary School also included Earth Day activities -- additionally appropriate because the new school will seek LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Donning 'junior' Miron hardhats, lucky winners of the district's contests participated in activities such as tree planting, scooping up some dirt in a piece of heavy machinery, and designing the safety sticker to go on each of the construction workers' hardhats.
